Beth Jansen

Beth Jansen

Director of Community Relations

A Hawkeye through and through. Beth is an Iowa native who also received a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Iowa. She later earned a master’s degree in social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and moved to Washington, DC, in 1989. Beth is in her 10th year at Thomas Circle—splitting her tenure in half between social work and sales. As director of community relations, Beth’s responsibilities include promoting the community to potential residents, family members and professional referral sources. She takes great pride in being part of a team that provides such a valuable service. In her spare time, Beth enjoys cooking and walking her dog. She’s a die-hard Redskins fan and movie buff: “I try not to go a week without missing a movie.”

Casey Reidy, RN

Casey Reidy, RN

Director of Nursing

Casey brings a wealth of experience to Thomas Circle with nearly 40 combined years in the nursing field. As dedicated as she is skilled, Casey has a great affinity for the residents and staff at Thomas Circle. Every day is a new experience—an opportunity to make others smile and feel better. Interestingly enough, Casey was brought up in Europe (France, Germany, England, and Italy) and speaks fluent French and German. Along with her daughter, Casey is able to turn her hobby of sculpting into a viable side business. Their studio in Arlington, VA, is called Tiernan Studios, and much of her character sculpting can be viewed at www.tiernanstudios.com.

Kabba Sesay

Director of Environmental Services, Housekeeping & Maintenance

Considered a “neat freak” by many of his co-workers, Sesay’s obsession with cleanliness and order is evident throughout the entire community. Before taking his position at Thomas Circle, Sesay was in charge of keeping the Landmark Mall spic and span for six years. He is originally from Sierra Leone, West Africa, and has been in the U.S. for the past 12 years. In that time, Sesay enlisted in the U.S. Army and was on active duty for three years; he is currently in the Army Reserves. Outside of work, Sesay enjoys playing soccer and spending quality time with his family. He has been married for 20 years and has three beautiful children. Very much a family man, Sesay has always felt compelled to help out other families any way he can.

Rosemary Moulton

Rosemary Moulton

Social Worker/Admissions Coordinator

As an avid art and food lover, Rosemary has a long list of places she hopes to visit during her lifetime. But right now she's happy to be in the nation's capital helping the residents of Thomas Circle. She has a master's degree in social work from Catholic University and is a licensed social worker in the District of Columbia. In her spare time, Rosemary enjoys watching the Discovery Health Network and trying out new recipes on friends and family. Bon appetit!

Barry Levine

Barry Levine

Controller

Barry moved from the Big Apple to the nation's capital in 1971 and never left. He has spent more than 20 years in the health care industry, including eight years as controller of Fairfax Nursing Center and The Gardens at Fair Oaks. Barry is excited to be working at Thomas Circle, where long–time Washingtonians can reminisce with him about one of his former employers, the now–defunct but fondly remembered Woodward & Lothrop, as well as two of his favorite leisure activities: reading mystery novels and playing tennis.

Kathleen Wagner

Director of Community Relations

To Kathleen, working at Thomas Circle is truly a labor of love. As she explains, "Serving our residents is more of a blessing than a job. I always walk away with pearls of wisdom to live by." Prior to her arrival at Thomas Circle, Kathleen spent 10 years as a real estate consultant and another year and a half as a director of community service for Sunrise Senior Living. In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys volunteering for Catholic Charities, the Alzheimer's Association, the Saint James School, and the Girl Scouts. And speaking of volunteering, Kathleen's two daughters—ages 10 and 12—often help out at Thomas Circle and are extremely popular with the residents.

Rosa Basurto

Human Resources

After spending more than 14 years in the hospitality industry with corporations such as Marriott, Choice Hotels and Hilton, Rosa is thrilled to be working with the residents of Thomas Circle. As she explains, "My experiences with seniors are so rewarding, and I learn so much from them." When she's not working, Rosa loves hanging out with her husband and two children—and says she learns a lot from them as well.

Director of Housekeeping

An 18–year veteran of Sunrise Senior Living, Grace became an assisted living coordinator in 2003 and joined the Thomas Circle team as the director of housekeeping in 2008. "My years working with seniors have enriched my life and bring me continuous joy," she says. "I love what I do." Grace attends Alzheimer's, Dementia, and management training classes to keep her skills sharp, and enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Angell Neish

Angell Neish

Community Relations Assistant

After taking care of her father and grandmother—both of whom had Alzheimer's—Angell says it was "natural" for her to join the Thomas Circle team. As community relations assistant, Angell works with incoming residents and their family members to ensure a stress–free move. She also acts as the "eyes" of the community, ensuring that everything is in tip–top shape. An ardent Jeopardy fan, Angell likes cooking (especially dishes from her native Jamaica) and reaching out to her grandchildren in Germany and Hawaii. They may be out of sight, but they are definitely not out of mind.

Community Dog

Part golden retriever and part beagle, four–year–old Bugsy brings a smile to the residents' faces—when he's not busy stealing their food. He is a fixture at Thomas Circle's weekly Happy Hours, and is always thrilled to help dispose of any leftovers.
